The Manual
Building Skills of Vulnerable Adults to Combat Online Disinformation

Main Goal
A non-formal learning program for adult educators is aimed to support adult educators in addressing a challenge that has become part of everyday educational practice: how to respond when learners encounter, trust, and share misinformation.
Learning Objectives
- Strengthen educators’ ability to identify and deconstruct online disinformation through the analysis of message design, manipulation techniques, and information ecosystems.
- Equip educators with AI-supported and gamified teaching tools by integrating simulations, quizzes, and interactive prebunking activities.
- Build civic and democratic competences through digital learning by encouraging dialogue, empathy, and active citizenship in online communities.
- Foster understanding of psychological and cognitive mechanisms of manipulation by drawing from the cognitive, emotional, and social foundations of misinformation belief formation.
