Moving Forward with the Online Combat Project

On February 5, partners of the Online Combat project from Slovenia, Estonia, Lithuania, and the Netherlands came together in Amsterdam for a Transnational Project Meeting hosted at the campus of the University of Amsterdam. The meeting marked an important milestone in the project, as it was the first opportunity for the consortium to meet in person after months of online collaboration.

The face-to-face setting created space not only for in-depth project discussions, but also for strengthening partnership relations. It was particularly valuable to finally meet colleagues with whom cooperation had previously taken place exclusively online. During the meeting, new team members introduced themselves, contributing fresh perspectives and expertise to the consortium.
Reviewing Progress
The coordinator, FENAN Consulting (the Netherlands) evaluated the progress on Work Package 2, which is built around the online course for adult educators on understanding and resisting online disinformation. Partners reviewed the current state of the course, assessed remaining tasks, and clarified content-related and technical adjustments still needed before the course can be released. Responsibilities were clearly assigned to ensure timely delivery and quality.
Planning Innovative Digital Tools
The main focus of the meeting was Work Package 3, which aims to develop innovative digital tools to support adult learners and educators in combating online misinformation. Partners engaged in an active brainstorming session around two core outputs:
- an online game for adult learners designed to strengthen critical thinking and media literacy (led by Smart Institute, Slovenia);
- a chatbot for adult educators to support the recognition of online misinformation and guide critical responses (led by Soyka Nl).
The consortium discussed initial concepts, target user needs, and potential technical approaches. We made concrete plans for a more structured and in-depth design discussion in March 2026.

Strengthening Dissemination and Outreach
In the end of the meeting, Non-formal learning club WE made an evaluation of the project’s dissemination activities. Partners reviewed current outreach efforts and agreed on concrete next steps to better reach key stakeholders, adult education networks, and potential partner organisations across Europe.
